Washington State Quilters

We meet the fourth Thursday of January, April, July, and September in the Commons Room at Mukogawa-Fort Wright Institute at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Our meetings include a welcome from the President, a business meeting (roughly 30-40 minutes),"show and tell" in which members and guests share their latest works,and door prize drawings. After a brief break, the highlight of each meeting is a presentation by our guest speaker. Anyone with an interest in quilting is welcome. Entry is free to members but non-members pay an entry fee of $10 at the door to help defray the costs of our speaker program. The entry fee will be applied toward the annual dues for anyone who chooses to join at the meeting.

Meeting Notice

Mukogawa-Fort Wright Institute has asked us to limit early entry into the facility as so many eager quilters can't wait to get into our meetings.  Therefore, we will now be opening the doors at 11:30 for the morning meeting and 5:30 for the evening meeting.  You will be able to enter the front lobby to use the restroom if needed and get out of the rain. 

Members involved in setup will still need to arrive early so make sure you check in at the front desk sometime during the meeting.

Getting There

WSQ meets in the Commons Room at Mukogawa-Fort Wright Institute, located at W. Fort George Wright Dr and N. Randolph Rd.

From Coeur d'Alene, ID:

Follow I-90 west toward Spokane. Take the Maple Street Bridge/exit 280A and stay straight to go onto W. 4th St. Turn right onto S. Walnut St and stay straight to go onto the S. Maple. Cross the Maple Street Bridge. Turn left onto W. Northwest Blvd. Turn sharp left onto N. TJ Meenach Dr. which becomes W. Fort George Wright Dr. You'll see a sign for Mukogawa-Fort Wright Institute. Turn right onto Randolph Rd. and follow it as it curves to the right. At the end of the road, you'll see the Commons Room over to the right. Ample parking is available.

From I-90:

Take the S. Maple St. Bridge exit and follow the directions given above for those traveling from Coeur d'Alene.

From Deer Park, WA:

Take US-395 south to Spokane. Turn right onto W. Garland Ave. Turn left onto N. Milton St. Turn slight left onto N. Driscoll Blvd. Stay straight to go onto N. Alberta St. Turn left onto W. Northwest Blvd. Turn slight right onto N. TJ Meenach Dr. which becomes W. Fort George Wright Dr. Then follow the directions given above to find the Commons Room at Mukogawa-Fort Wright Institute.

During the Meetings:

Fundraising: Don't forget to stop by the fundraising table for pins, mugs, bags, etc to help raise funds for our guild.

Block Exchange: The April block is going to be a Fantasy Flower Block.  The drawing for the block exchange will be done at the evening meeting. You need not be present to win.

Library: Linda Dickens and family has a new system for checking out books that should make it easier for her and all of us!

Raffle Quilts: Purchase a raffle ticket to this year's beautiful quilt.  Sign up or turn in blocks for the 2012 raffle quilt.  Occasionally, we have guest quilds selling raffle tickets for beautiful quilts.

Bus Trip:  Sign up for the next bus trip.  You'll get to see out of town quilt shows, stores and lots of prizes along the way all without the hassle of driving. Fun for everyone!
