Karla Alexander Is Our Speaker In April

Quilt designer and author, Karla Alexander lives in beautiful Salem, Oregon, with Husband, Don and family dog, Lucy. Her three older sons, Shane, Kelly and William all live in Corvallis and Portland, Oregon.
Karla has released her own line of patterns under the name Saginaw Street Quilt Company. She has been a featured teacher at many quilt retreats and has taught thousands of students how to quilt using a variety of methods including her own stack methods. She has made hundreds of quilts with many more waiting to be made.
Karla is also proud to be included as one of the designers on Creative Grids Rulers team. Creative Grid Rulers have provided Karla the opportunity and support to continue with her nontraditional quilting style while adding
reassurance to the methods with the addition of specialty designed rulers.
Karla's philosophy regarding quilting is to enjoy the process, learn from your experience and take what you learn from one project on to the next. As a teacher, she enthusiastically inspires her students to discover and create their own individual style in their quilt making journeys. With all the many things to worry about, she believes quilting isn't one of them, but rather a time to experience the "creative flow" & enjoy!
In addition, Karla has written eight books, published by Martingale & Company-
That Patchwork Place:
Stack, Shuffle, and Slide – A New Technique for Stack The Deck Quilts - 2014
Dynamic Quilts With Easy Curves, February 2012 Stack the Deck Revisited, 2011 Color Shuffle, released in 2009 Baby Wraps, released 2008 New Cuts for New Quilts, 2006
